Cybersecurity

Cybersecurity, from the first login to the last backup

Technology is your most useful tool and your most exposed asset. We protect it in layers, starting with an honest look at where you stand.

Security is not one product. It is a set of layers, each catching what the one before missed: the login, the device, the email, the network, the backup, and the people using all of them.

We start with a risk assessment of what you have now. Most small companies have some protection in place and real gaps around it. The assessment tells you which gaps matter, so you spend money on the ones that do.

From there it is ongoing work: monitoring, patching, training, and testing the plan before it is needed.

One thing we do not do is attack you. We are a defensive team. When you need penetration testing, we bring in a specialist and fix what they find.

What's included

Gap and risk analysis
Vulnerability scanning and threat modeling to find the weak points, with a prioritized list of what to fix first.
Endpoint protection and detection
Protection on every laptop, desktop and server that looks at behavior, not just known signatures, so new threats are caught too.
Monitoring and alerting
Security events collected and correlated in one place, so an incident is seen as it happens rather than discovered weeks later.
Patch management
Servers and workstations patched on a schedule, with regular checks for what was missed.
Email security
Spam and phishing filtering, country blocking where it makes sense, and SPF, DKIM and DMARC set up so nobody can send mail as you.
Multi-factor authentication
MFA across the whole organization. It is the single most effective control most small companies do not have.
Credential management
Admin passwords stored in a managed vault and rotated, not kept in a spreadsheet.
Critical asset protection
Extra controls and monitoring on the servers and databases the business cannot run without.
Security awareness training
Staff training at onboarding and every year after, at no charge.
Policy and incident response testing
Tabletop exercises that check your policies and response plan work before you need them.
Compliance support
Guidance and regular assessments for HIPAA, PCI DSS and SOC 2.

Platforms we work with

  • Bitdefender GravityZone
  • Microsoft Defender for Office 365
  • Microsoft Entra ID
  • Keeper
  • Barracuda
  • SonicWall
  • Secureworks

A good fit if

  • A customer or insurer has sent a security questionnaire you cannot answer.
  • You have antivirus and assume that means you are protected.
  • You hold client, patient or payment data.

Probably not the right fit if

  • You need penetration testing or red-team work. We are a defensive (blue team) shop, and we will bring in a specialist we trust when you need an attacker's view.

How it works

  1. Assess

We review your current protections and find the gaps, starting with the onboarding security review.

  2. Prioritize

A ranked list: what to fix now, what can wait, and what it costs, with a not-to-exceed price.

  3. Protect

Controls put in place and monitored centrally.

  4. Test and train

Policies tested, staff trained, and the whole thing reviewed every year.

Questions we get asked

Do you do penetration testing?

No. We are a defensive security team. When you need penetration testing, we bring in a specialist we trust, help scope the test, and fix what it finds.

We already have antivirus. Is that enough?

Not on its own. Antivirus is one layer. Most incidents at small companies start with a stolen password or a phishing email, which is why MFA, email filtering and staff training matter as much as the software on the laptop.

Should everyone have multi-factor authentication?

Yes. We recommend MFA for the whole organization, and we will help you roll it out without making everyone's day harder.

Can you help with our cyber insurance questionnaire?

Yes. Insurers increasingly ask about MFA, endpoint detection, backups and training. We help you answer accurately, and close the gaps before renewal if there are any.

Thirty minutes, and you will know where you stand.

No obligation, no pitch deck. We will tell you what we would do and what the ceiling would be. If that is not worth it, you have lost half an hour.
