Help desk & managed IT
Help desk and managed IT for companies with no IT department
Your staff call us when something breaks, and we keep it from breaking in the first place. For companies that have never had an IT department and do not want to build one.
Managed IT means we become your IT department. Your staff call us when something breaks. Behind the scenes, we keep servers patched, networks tuned and backups working, so fewer things break.
When you call, a technician takes the problem and makes the first attempt. If it is not quickly solved, a senior engineer takes over. We are in the IT business, not the business of wasting your time.
The goal is to be proactive rather than reactive. Good support fixes the problem. Great support fixes it before you notice there was one.
Fully managed means fully managed: on-site support, help desk triage, senior escalation, and cover on nights and weekends. If you already have someone in-house, see co-managed IT.
What's included
- Help desk
- Phone, email and chat support for every employee, plus on-site visits in the Houston and Austin areas. Any of your staff can call, not just the owner.
- Patches, firmware and upgrades
- Servers, laptops, routers and printers kept current on a maintenance schedule built around your working hours, not ours.
- Server administration
- System architecture, email, CRM and ERP integrations, virtualization, storage, cloud and colocation, upgrades and migrations.
- Network administration
- Office network design, LAN and WAN, Wi-Fi, firewalls, and connectivity for remote sites over cellular, VSAT or MPLS.
- Endpoint protection
- Managed antivirus and endpoint detection on every machine, watched centrally so a threat is seen before a user reports it.
- Onboarding security review
- User permissions, software and patch currency, firmware, antivirus licensing, a full scan, and a risk evaluation, done before anything else.
- Security awareness training
- Training for your users when we start, and again every year, at no charge.
- After-hours critical support
- Nights and weekends for the problems that cannot wait until morning.
- Software and license tracking
- We track what software you run and what you are paying for, so renewals and audits do not catch you out.
- Vendor coordination
- Your internet provider, phone company and software vendors deal with us, so the office manager does not have to.

A good fit if
- You have 10 to 100 people and nobody whose job is IT.
- The owner or office manager has become the IT person by default.
- You have outgrown the contractor who set things up and stopped answering.
- You want remote support that works wherever your people are, and someone who can walk in across the Houston and Austin metros.
Probably not the right fit if
- You need someone physically on site every week and you are outside our on-site areas. Ask on the first call; we will tell you plainly how we would cover it.
- You have a full IT department and want only a ticket queue. Look at co-managed IT instead.
How it works
-
Onboarding review
We look at every user, device and system, and write down what we find. You keep the findings whatever you decide.
-
Fix what is urgent
An itemized list of what needs doing, with an estimate and a not-to-exceed price. Nothing starts without your approval.
-
Ongoing support
The help desk goes live for your staff, and maintenance runs on a schedule that suits your business.
-
Regular review
We come back to what has changed, what is ageing, and what it will cost to stay ahead of it.
How it's priced
Support is quoted after the onboarding review, with an itemized estimate before any work starts. Project work always comes with a not-to-exceed price agreed in writing before we start.
Questions we get asked
Can any of our employees call the help desk?
Yes. Support is for your whole company, not one named contact. Your staff reach the people who know your systems.
What happens outside business hours?
Standard hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm Central. Critical problems are covered nights and weekends, billed at the after-hours rate.
Do you come on site?
Yes, across the Houston and Austin metros. Most problems are fixed remotely, which is faster, but when something needs hands on it, someone comes.
Will we have to replace all our equipment?
No. We start with what you have. Where something needs replacing, we will tell you why and what it costs, and we will not treat you as a test bed for the newest product.
What if you cannot fix something?
We will tell you, and point you to someone who can, even if that is a competitor. We would rather you get it fixed properly than keep paying us to try.

Thirty minutes, and you will know where you stand.
No obligation, no pitch deck. We will tell you what we would do and what the ceiling would be. If that is not worth it, you have lost half an hour.
