What is multi-factor authentication (MFA)?

Signing in with something you know (a password) plus something you have (a code on your phone or a security key). It stops most account takeovers that start with a stolen password.

Multi-factor authentication (MFA) means proving who you are with more than one kind of evidence when you sign in, typically:

  • something you know, such as a password, and
  • something you have, such as a code or prompt in an app on your phone, or a hardware security key.

A stolen or guessed password on its own is then not enough to get into the account. That is why we recommend MFA on every account that supports it, and why insurers and auditors ask about it. If you get an MFA prompt you did not trigger, deny it and tell us.

Thirty minutes, and you will know where you stand.

No obligation, no pitch deck. We will tell you what we would do and what the ceiling would be. If that is not worth it, you have lost half an hour.
