What is SCADA?

Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition: software that collects data from field equipment and lets operators supervise and control it, such as reading a pressure or opening a valve, from a central screen.

SCADA stands for Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition. It is the control-system layer that collects readings from equipment in the field and lets operators supervise and control it from a screen.

A SCADA system uses networked computers and graphical displays for high-level supervision, while devices such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs) do the direct work of reading sensors and driving equipment like valves and pumps. It can run separately at each site, such as a field or a refinery, or centrally for many sites at once.

SCADA servers run real operations, so they cannot be patched like an office laptop. See SCADA & control rooms.

Thirty minutes, and you will know where you stand.

No obligation, no pitch deck. We will tell you what we would do and what the ceiling would be. If that is not worth it, you have lost half an hour.
